Michele Migliuolo Joins the PLSG as an Executive-In-Residence

Pittsburgh, November 10, 2006 - The Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse (PLSG), the private/public partnership putting the region's life sciences industry on a fast track for growth, today announced it has added Michele (pronounced Mee-kay-la) Migliuolo, Ph.D. to its management team.

Prior to his appointment to the PLSG team of Executives in Residence (EIR), Dr. Migliuolo worked briefly with the PLSG as an Executive Associate. He brings significant research and consulting experience as well as capital funding experience in high technology and life sciences companies, including Seagate Technology where he was Sr. Director of Research. He was also Vice President at Firefly Technologies and Founder and CEO of Verimetra, Inc., a startup manufacturer of MEMS biomedical devices and sensors. Michele holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Physics from the University of Rochester, a Laurea in Fisica from the University of Rome, and a Baccalaureate in Natural Sciences.

As an EIR, Dr. Migliuolo will focus on early-stage company formation as well as the commercialization of later-stage technologies and opportunities. He will leverage his significant life sciences experience, IPO background, knowledge of raising capital, and development of successful commercialization models to assist companies with comprehensive strategic business planning.
